Hi, love Croatia, plan to move there. Chicken and egg problem on getting the temporary residence permit: we need to show the consulate a rental agreement proving we have available accommodation. But we're aiming to buy and don't want to be lumbered with a costly long-term rental that we won't use. Please does anyone have any suggestions? Anyone know any companies offering accommodation addresses? Or please does anyone have a Croatian property (even a shed, garage, chicken-coop) which they'd like to offer us on a limited length let or limited occupancy cheap let just to satisfy the paperwork? Thanks for any advice David

you can stay in croatia up to 3 months with your toursit visa which is for some countries just a stamp at the border of entrance. why not first find what you want to buy and then apply for residence permit with your proper address?

You can get a small apartment for very cheap. You can stay in the country for 90 days. You need the stamp at the border AND you need to apply for an extended stay at the police station. After your 90 days expire, you are supposed to leave for 90 days and then you can come back for another 90. I just never waited a full 90 days. I just came back in to the country and restarted another 90 day stay. ------------------------------------ croatia-travel.us
