Hy!
We are a 30 years old spanish couple who are planning our first trip to Croatia on next august. We always go to nudist beaches in Spain, so, in this travel, we want to taste the naturist experience also in Croatia!
We have only about ten days at the beginning of august to make a route by car from Istria to Dubrovnik, along the coast (after this, we are going also to Bosnia-Herzegovina to visit some friends, and finally we willl turn back by Zagreb), and we have a lot of doubts, because Croatia is not well-known for Spainish people, and is hard to get good information. In this way this site seems very usefull!
As I said, we want to do naturism, but at the same time visit places of special natural and cultural heritage. Make a choice for both things seems difficult: there are lot of naturist places, and lot of things to see!
So, I need some help!
¿Is everything TOO crowded on august? Because our jobs, is impossible for us to travel in other dates…
¿Which beach (better sandy beaches, if is possible) areas can you recommend us?
If we could choose an island (with natural an historic interest, and also good nudist beaches), wich would be “the best”? ¿Maybe Hvar, Mljet, Kurcula…?
¿Wich naturists campings do you recommend, with good beach and interesting things in the surroundings?
¿Is possible to find accommodation (in campings, hostels, private rooms,…) without reservations?
¿Other recommendations?
Thank you !!!

Hola Carlos,
I don't want to disappoint you, but yes, first half of August is the peak of the season and chances are everywhere will be crowded.
I would definitely recommend Hvar island, but in August it will be very crowded.
Korcula is great and a bit less popular than Hvar. I don't know much about beaches there. Mljet is more like naturally well preserved island, not many sites of historic interest there. Brac island is also beautiful, lots of things to see there and there is a nice nudist beach near popular Zlatni Rat beach in Bol.
The naturist camping to go is Valalta in Rovinj, or Koversada in Vrsar.
I would definitively book in advance. Search Google for "private accommodation croatia" or "private accommodation + place where you want to go", or "rooms" or "apartments".
There are not many sandy beaches in Croatia, mostly rocks and pebbles.
If you have only 10 days, I would split it in two maximum three places, for example: Rovinj or Vrsar in Istria An Island Dubrovnik
Hope this helps.

Hi there, August is busy but still enjoyable. You are asking alot to do ALL of Croatia in ten days! My recommendation would be: fly to Split, this is a great small city with heaps of history. The harbour front and old town are built around a Roman Palace much of which remains today. Its buzzing and there is great nightlife and restaurants. There is also a nude beach walking distance from the centre. Split is also a transit town with airport, ferry terminal and train station, so access to Southern Islands is easy from here. I would recommend Hvar as the one place to visit. The Campsite at Verboska is highly recommended. Hvar town is 20 mins away and is a beautiful old fishing town with some grand architecture. The little islands off Hvar are all nudist and a 2 Euro boat trip gets you there and back in 10 mins.
I would spend two days in Split, three on Hvar.
NExt I would drive down the coast from Split enjoying the Markaska riviera. Here there is one old town after another with nude beaches and easy accomodation. Pisak is small and beautiful, Brela, Baska Voda, Markaska, Tucepi all lovey places with nude beaches. This could easily occupy three days.
The bottom of the riviera borders Bosnia, and from here Dubrovnik is only a few hours drive. For details on Dubrovnik area naturism you will need another source!! My knowledge is central Dalmatia.
I would say that the beach reports on this site are very good and acurate. Any more info required just email me and ill try and help.

Thank you very much for your kind and quick replies !!!
Of course we would prefer to travel to Croatia in another month, not august, but, as I said, surely this is our only chance for work reasons...
Surely, we will flight from Madrid to Venice, and from there we will rent a car to travel along Croatia and Bosnia.
What doy you think about this first-approaching route?
Rovinj and sorroundings (two days)-Plivitce National Park (one day)-Split (two days)-Hvar or Korcula (two days)-Markaska riviera (just one or two days stopping on the way)-Dubrovnik (two or three days)
Do you think is it possible or too "stressing"?
Is possible/reccomended/expensive to transfer the car to Hvar or Korcula?
What about bungalows in naturist campings? Are expensive? Is neccesary to book also for that?
Thank you very much for your attention !!!

Car rental is easy on Hvar but expensive in season. Better to rent in Split and take it on the ferry.
If you need recommendations for accomodation in Split i can help, send me an email and ill correspond.

Thank you, Phil, but, as I said, we will do entirely by our own car, we don't need to rent it.
What about other questions?
